The Guy in Asia Video

The man in the video ( whose name i cant remember), made excellent point of the fact that we should focus on the education of children and guiding them away from the violence so that one day they will be able to find solutions on how to deal with our corrupted war. The only thing I didn't agree with him was that he stated that we should stop fighting terrorism and focus all our attention on education. I understand he said that with peace in mind, but the United States right now is a great target for many countries put there that don't like our country for various reasons, and if we don let our guard down and stop fighting terrorism, many people in our country would end up suffering deaths and our country would fall in the hands of strangers. Again, i may have misunderstood what the guy was trying to say when he said that, but this is what i got out of it.

  1. From what I understood he is focusing on education and development of children and mainly young girls in order to eventually stop terrorism and end our fight against it. I strongly believe in a difference between fight against and deffending against. From my point of view the US does a great job as far as defending our nation from terrorism. I just hope we dont engage in terrorism in order to fight it because that would be hypocritical of US. But I agree with you 100%, if we do not DEFEND ourselves our nation will fall.

  2. Ghandi once said "be the change you want to see in the world" i really think that this man sets an example defined by Ghandi's saying. I think we can all take a page out of this to better ourselves.

  3. i think his name is greg. i thought that was a bit arrogant as well. sure educating people is a step in the right direction but you cant expect to drop a school or two in the middle of nowhere and expect all to be good. you gotta crack a few eggs to make an omelet.

  4. I agree that you can't just build a school and get things going just like that. It's a step though, and a step makes a difference!

  5. I agree with you in the fact that you can't just focus completely on education. There needs to be a balance where education continues to be more important, but at the same also maintaining our nations security.
